The Kwanza is the currency of Angola. There have been four different currencies circulating since 1977 using the name Kwanza.

The currency code for the Novo Kwanza is AOA, formerly AOK, AON and AOR.

The Kwanza was introduced after Angolan Independence and it replaced the Escudo with the Novo Kwanza being introduced in 1990.
